  1. WEEK 18 Tuesday, January 2nd 2024 REVIEW 2 Activity 3, 4, 5 I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Read and match four pairs of target sentence patterns. - Read a gapped letter on familiar topics and show understanding of it by choosing the correct words to fill the gaps. - Use the target language to complete a gapped letter about their school. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: review - Sentence patterns: review 2. Skills: - Reading and writing. 3. Quality /Attitude: Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to ask and answer questions had learned. Diligence: complete learning tasks 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: Decision making, teamwork, work standards, motivation, problem-solving. Self- control & independent learning: perform listening tasks Written Communication: comeplete the sentence II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, textbook, computer, projector, flashcards, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. Check comprehension. - Do Sentence 1 as an example. Point at the first sentence and read aloud as a class. Elicit the missing word and give feedback. Complete the sentence and get Ss to read the completed sentence in chorus. -SS do the task. - Set a time limit for Ss to do the task independently. Check comprehension. - Have pupils do the first gapped sentence together as an example. Ask them to read the first sentence and elicit suitable answers (e.g. the city, the mountains, the town, the village). Then have them fill in the gap. - Give pupils time to complete the text -Ss do the task. independently. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Read and match two reading texts with pictures of the countryside and the city, and identify the features of the countryside and the city.0 - Distinguish the features of the city and the countryside. - Revise the target vocabulary and sentence patterns by playing Board game. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: review - Sentence patterns: review 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking, reading and writing. 3. Quality /Attitude: Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to show pride in what they have learnt. Kindness: help partners to complete learning tasks Diligence: complete learning tasks 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: Decision making, teamwork, work standards, motivation, problem-solving. Self- control & independent learning: perform listening tasks Written Communication: comeplete the sentence Communication and collaboration: work in pairs or groups Problem-solving and creativity: answer comprehension questions after reading the story. Listen and answer :7’ *Aims: to revise the target vocabulary and sentence patterns by playing Board game. *Context: A board game of 12 spaces *Teaching techniques - techniques in teaching speaking - individual, groupworks, using recording, -Ss look and listen. pictures *Procedure: -Lead the game for the whole class. Divide the class into four groups. Determine which group goes first, second, third and fourth. - Each group rolls the dice in turn. A member of each group moves the group’s counter forward by the number of spaces indicated by -Ss play game. the dice. - When a counter lands on a space with a picture, ask the corresponding question below. Competences: SS can develop some competences: -Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play -Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information -Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing words/phrases -Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking.
