- Grade 4. WEEK 26 Teaching date: Monday March 11th , 2024 UNIT 15: MY FAMILY’S WEEKENDS Lesson 3- Activity 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Correctly pronounce the sounds of the letters g and s in isolation, in the words go and television, and in the sentences I go to the cinema on Saturdays, and the word television (/ʒ/) as in We watch television on Sundays with the correct pronunciation and intonation. - Listen and circle the correct answers about where someone comes from. - Read the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Phonic: Sound /g/, /s/ - Vocabulary: review - Sentence patterns: review 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss feel happy when asking and answering questions about where a family member goes at the weekend Diligence: complete learning tasks 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: - Communication and collaboration: work in pairs and groups to complete the learning tasks - Self-control & independent learning: perform listening tasks II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, textbook, computer, projector, flashcards, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. IV. PROCEDURE:
- Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: 5’ Game: Throw the ball. *Aims: to help ss to review the old lesson and be happy to learn new lesson. *Teaching techniques: -techniques in teaching playing game. *Procedure: - Divide the class into 2 teams. - Stick the pictures of activities on the board. -SS listen Teacher says a word, a student from each team has to point/throw the ball to the right picture - SS play game. and says the word three times. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Read a text and decide whether the statements about Ben and his family’s Sunday activities are true or false. - Complete a text about what Mai’s family members do at the weekend by writing the target words in the gaps. - Make notes about where pupils’ family members go and what they do at the weekend, and present the results to the class, using the target language. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: review - Sentence patterns: review 2. Skills: - Listening, writing and reading 3. Quality /Attitude: Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Project :7’ *Aims: to make notes about where pupils’ family members go and what they do at the weekend, and present the results to the class, using the target language. *Context: - A picture of a student giving a presentation at the front of the class using the notes. - Speech bubble: On Sundays, my father goes to the sports centre.
