- WEEK : 31 Teaching date: Monday , April 15th , 2024 UNIT 18: AT THE SHOPPING CENTRE Lesson 2 - Activity 4, 5, 6 I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Listen and number the correct answers about prices - Read and write about locations and prices - Review the words for prices and items at the shopping centre by playing the game Guess the price! 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: review - Sentence patterns: review 2. Skills: - Listening, reading and speaking 3. Quality /Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to use appropriate gestures and intonation when talking about prices. Diligence: complete learning tasks Responsibility: appreciate kindness Leadership: collaborate with teachers to enhance language skills 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: - Communication and collaboration: work in pairs and groups to complete the learning tasks - Self-control & independent learning: perform listening tasks II. If the Ss answer correctly, they get the points (coins) for that question to buy that object. - After 6 numbers, the team with the most points is the winner. -SS open their book. -Say “Open your book page 55 and look at lesson 2 – Activity 4, 5, 6” 2. - *Aims: to complete two gapped dialogues about prices with the help of picture cues. *Context: Four picture cues and four incomplete sentences *Teaching techniques - techniques in teaching reading -Look at the picture and identify. -individual, pairworks, pictures *Procedure: - Get Ss to look at the pictures. Get them to identify the characters. - Have Ss look at the four incomplete sentences and guess the missing word. Then draw Ss’ attention to the picture and elicit the prices that can be used to fill in the gap (fifty). -SS do the task. - Model with a sentence. - Have Ss complete the sentences -Ss write their answers individually. There will be clues to help them guess. - Put a picture card (for example, of a school bag) on the board. Write a price range as a clue to help Ss guess the price (e.g. 50.000đ – 60.000đ).
